ABOUT THAMBA MBUNGU

Moses Thamba Mbungu was a beloved child, brother, friend, and member of the Manchester, New Hampshire community. He died tragically at the age of 20 on October 24, 2021.

Thamba was a generous, kind, hard-working, cheerful young man who greeted everyone with a smile. He was also an extremely talented soccer player who received numerous awards as a top player in the region. Thamba played for the top youth academies in the area, and at the time of his passing, was actively preparing for a professional soccer career in Congo.

The people who mourn his loss go far beyond family and friends to include teachers, coaches, soccer families, and community members.

This fund has been established by Inti Academy, of which Thamba was a member since he arrived from Africa over 10 years ago. The purpose of the fund is to remember Thamba long into the future by providing annual help to the children of Manchester, including scholarships for high school youth looking for a brighter future, an annual tournament, and other possible community works in Thamba’s name.

The fund is stewarded by a committee comprised of coaches, teachers, friends, and community members who knew and loved Thamba.
